buy curious?

ummm... ok, maybe that's a bad title for the 2nd (ok, 3rd, if you count the entry completed at 12:05 this am) blog entry from today. like i orig. had a feeling, might as well go out in a blaze of glory, and blog away until the urge to self-document passes... so, H really wanted to read curious george tonite... read 3 stories from the 'complete works of curious george'. that is the 3rd movie he's seen in a theatre (1st was a bears movie at the imax when he was about 2. no scars left over from that! "are we moving?" "no hunter, it just looks that way" "are we still moving?" "no, buddy, it's just the screen that's moving" "are we still moving?" the folks in front of us were patient, indeed. "are those bears going to eat us?" "no, we're moving too fast for them to catch us"... that was when the wyf abandoned us for a long stretch, and i was 'lottery papa', where we did como, the MOA, the imax, the 'jump around on air inflated things and puke' store, toys r us, etc etc. then, we did madagascar (all 3 of us). after 22 minutes into it, when we took away the tub o popcorn cuz he laid waste to about half of it... "is this almost done?" "i want to go home" "why is this so long" all in a stage whisper. good thing the other 86 3 yr olds drowned him out. so, once again, being lottery papa, when the wyf was gone on biz, we went to the movies... curious george. i had ruined it for him by watching the trailers about 10 times before we went. he was expecting a lil more action and faster cuts... but we w/stood it for almost all of it, and then he always asked to rewatch the trailers and play the online movie games... i bought him the complete works of curious george http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0618164413/sr=8-2/qid=1148176306/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-5222407-3024950?%5Fencoding=UTF8
wow, is that an ugly URL, but too lazy to convert it at tinyURL or SNIPurl... so, now the question is: should i buy the DVD of curious george or not? (and you thought the title was just a hook to get you to read yet another pointless brain dump...). i have a soft spot in my heart for curious george... that was dad and myself's favorite book series... he'd plop it up on his ridiculously large and taut beer belly, stretching the wife beater to it's limit, in his old trusty boxers, w/ an arm around me on one side, and tom on the other, on his bed. i'd hold one side of the dogeared, colored on, ratty curious george softcover, and tom would grab the other, and we'd plow thru the curious george books, me reading one page, tom the next, etc. so, as i reread those old stories (curious george gets a job... gets a medal... goes to the hospital for an std... flies a kite...), i love seeing those old, simplistic drawings, those old images, as if it were 30 years ago all over again (30 yrs! where'd the years go?) what format will hunter be 'reading' curious george to jeff jr to in 30 years?

out,
j
